Ellen MacArthur - Derbyshire yachtswoman born 1976
Ellen MacArthur was brought up in Derbyshire and is one of Britain's best known and loved sportswomen. She is a yachtswoman who shot to fame after she finished second in the gruelling Vendée Globe single-handed around the world race. More recently she broke the world record for sailing around the world single handed.
