A group of nine gorgeous 4* holiday cottages, sleeping up to 30 people. Spectacularly located in the heart of the Peak District, this 18th Century dairy barn and hayloft overlooks High Wheeldon and the Dragon’s Back.
Winners of the Silver Award in the East Midlands Enjoy England Excellence Awards in both 2009 and 2010, on-site owners Deborah and Martin Hofman aim to provide high standards of customer service, cleanliness and attention to detail.
All our cottages are child-friendly, dog-friendly and environmentally-friendly ! In addition, Sheldon Cottage is wheelchair accessible with a walk-in wet room, and Walker's Rest is all on one level; The Games Room with table football and pool table also has a fully fitted kitchen and dining facilities and is ideal for group gatherings.
On arrival you’ll find locally made cake and biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, a jug of milk, toiletries, cling film, silver foil, kitchen & toilet paper, in a well-equipped kitchen. You'll love the comfortable beds, with toppers and optional feather pillows; the living rooms have contemporary leather furniture and WIFI is complimentary.
Order a Derbyshire breakfast basket (filled with yummy home-made and local produce), and a home-made meal ready and waiting for your arrival.
Wheeldon Trees is a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding countryside and nearby attractions with tremendous views, glorious walks and endless cycle trails starting on our doorstep.

The Cottages
Sheldon Cottage
Sleeps 4. Disabled Access Sheldon Cottage accommodates up to four people. It is on one level with under-floor heating throughout and has been awarded M2 grading under the National Accessibility Scheme. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area - fully tiled - leads through to two twin/double bedrooms (both fully carpeted and with zip-and-link beds). There are 2 shower rooms, one of which is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Enjoy the beautiful view of Parkhouse and Chrome Hills and the beautiful Upper Dove valley from every window or private rear patio.
Elliott Cottage
Sleeps 4. Elliott Cottage has two fully carpeted twin bedrooms, one with zip-and-link beds. The modern tiled bathroom has an over-bath shower. Downstairs is the tiled, open plan living, dining and kitchen area with under-floor heating. The back door leads to your own private enclosed patio area with table and chairs.
Lomas Cottage
Sleeps 4. Slightly larger than Elliott, Lomas Cottage also accommodates up to four people. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area is tiled with under-floor heating. Your own private enclosed patio has table and chairs for 4. Upstairs are two king/twin bedrooms (both fully carpeted and with zip-and-link beds) and a large tiled bathroom with over-bath shower.
Nadin Cottage
Sleeps 5. Nadin Cottage accommodates up to five people with bedrooms at the bottom and the top of the cottage! Downstairs is one double and one single bedroom and the bathroom with over-bath shower - all with under-floor heating. To the rear is your own private enclosed patio. On the first floor is the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Further stairs lead you up to a fully carpeted galleried twin bedroom overlooking the living area.
Mycock Cottage
Sleeps 3. Mycock Cottage accommodates up to three people. Downstairs is the tiled, open plan living, dining and kitchen area with under-floor heating. To the rear is your own private enclosed patio. Upstairs is one double and one single bedroom (both fully carpeted) and the tiled bathroom with over-bath shower.
Critchlow Cottage
Sleeps 3. ‘Semi-detached’ Critchlow Cottage accommodates up to three people. Downstairs is the open plan living, dining and kitchen area with under-floor heating. To the rear is your own private enclosed patio. Upstairs is one double and one single bedroom (both fully carpeted) and the tiled bathroom with over-bath shower.
Priestley Cottage
Sleeps 3. Priestley Cottage is the largest of our ‘three person’ cottages. Downstairs is the tiled, open plan living, dining and kitchen area with under-floor heating. Upstairs is one double and one single bedroom (both fully carpeted) and the tiled bathroom with over-bath shower.
Ollerenshaw Cottage
Sleeps 2. Ollerenshaw is our smallest and cosiest cottage accommodating one or two people. Downstairs is the tiled, open plan living, dining and kitchen area with under-floor heating. Upstairs is the fully carpeted double bedroom and the tiled bathroom with over-bath shower.
Walker's Rest
Sleeps 2. Walker's Rest accommodates one or two, all on one level with under-floor heating throughout. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area is tiled. The double bedroom is fully carpeted and the tiled bathroom has a bath and separate shower.
