The Derbyshire Dales National Nature Reserve is managed by English Nature and consists of parts of five separate limestone valleys in the Peak District National Park - Lathkill, Cressbrook, Monk's, Long and Hay Dale.These represent superb examples of all of the major wildlife habitats of the White Peak Natural Area. Rock Climbing in Derbyshire and the Peak District
Rock climbing is a very popular activity in the Peak District and on warm bank holidays, many climbers can be seen on popular edges such as Stanage or Froggatt. Generally the climbing style is free climbing (as opposed to aid climbing) and the rock is either gritstone or limestone. Paragliding in the Peak District
A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing.
