Mackworth Church - Parish Church of All Saints in Derby The Parish Church of All Saints stands back from the road, isolated in a field to the east of the village centre. It is mostly 14th century, though it was probably built on a former place of worship. It has a recessed spire with one tier of dormer windows, and an ashlar faced Perp west tower, with angle buttresses at the top below the battlements. Interestingly, it has no outside door which probably suggests it was built for defence. It contains monuments to the Touchet and Mundy families, including a monument to Edward Mundy who died in 1607, which is an alabaster effigy on a tomb chest with the figures of children on its front wall, and a fine alabaster slab commemorating Thomas Touchet, who was rector from 1381 to 1409.
