Farmers Markets

Farmers Markets are an opportunity to buy food and local products direct from local farmers, producers and craftsmen. They sell only products which have been grown, raised, baked or caught locally, normally within 30 miles. They do not sell GM foods. Many stallholders will be registered organic producers

Alfreton - 3rd Saturday of every month 9am - 1pm
Bakewell Farmers Market - Last Saturday of the month from 9 am to 2 pm.
Belper - 2nd Saturday of every month 9am - 2pm
Buxton - Every Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm
Castleton - first Sunday of the month from 10 am to 3 pm
Chesterfield - 2nd Thursday of every month 10am - 4pm
Derby - 3rd Thursday of every month 9am - 3pm
Leek - Third Saturday of the month from 9 am to 2 pm.
Ripley - 1st Saturday of every month 9am - 3pm
Wirksworth - The first Saturday of every month 9am until 2pm. We have been established for over 12 months now and offer a farmers market cafe as well as musical entertainment.

Also held at Buxton each year is the Great Peak District Fair, this year on October 28th & 29th. Also held in Buxton are the regional food fairs Saturdays 10am to 4pm on the following 11 March. 15 April. 20 May. 16 September & 16 December.

Chatsworth Farm Shop at Pilsley
The farm shop was established in 1977 by the Duchess of Devonshire to sell beef and lamb from the estate farms, and venison from the park, direct to our local customers. In the intervening quarter of a century, the shop has grown to become the acknowledged leader in its field selling a huge range of home produced or locally sourced food. The Old Cheese Shop at Hartington
The Old Cheese Shop at Hartington is a much loved source of some of the finest cheeses you can buy in Britain. It has been a focal point of Hartington since it was opened in the 1980s and now showcases the best cheeses from the award winning Hartington Creamery. The shop stocks over thirty different British cheeses. The range covers the classic Blue Stilton to such regional favourites as Buxton Blue and Dovedale. If these cheeses sound bemusing, simply take some time to explore this section of the site. The range on offer covers hard cheeses such as Red Leicester, to a wide range of cheddars, crumbly cheeses, unpressed cheeses like Stilton and seciality/blended cheeses.
