Derbyshire and Peak District Curiosities
| Calver Mill Calver Mill was first built in 1785 but destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1805 when it became a thriving cotton mill employing a large number of local people. It finished producing cotton in 1923 and has had a number of uses since then, including the role of Colditz Castle in the television series, Colditz. It is now being renovated into modern housing. |

| Friar Gate bridge in Derby Friar Gate bridge in Friar Gate, Derby, was built in 1878 by the firm of Andrew Handyside despite much opposition. It still finely complements the Georgian houses and the trees that line this, possibly Derby's finest street. |
