The Cottage is set in the beautiful & peaceful village of Earl Sterndale approx 5 miles South of the Spa Town Buxton
and within easy reach of Bakewell, Ashbourne and Hartington as well as the many attractions to be found here , in the Heart of the Peak District. Earl Sterndale is well placed for visiting Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Dove Dale and all the major sights.
The Cottage was once the Bakery for the Village, it has now been renovated into a One Bedroom dwelling. It dates back to the 1700's & is built of natural limestone.

The Accommodation (Sleeps 2)
You enter the cottage into a Lounge/Dining Litchen with a stone flagged floor. The Kitchen area has eletric cooker, microwave, fridge & general cooking utensils. The Lounge area has ample sitting with the added comfort of a solid fuel lof burner (fuel provided). There is also a flat screen TV, DVD player & CD/Radio. The elegant spiral staircase leads you to the double bedroom & en-suite bathroom.
Upstairs there are beautiful wooden floors and exposed pitch pine beams. The Bathroom has a roll top bath with a hand held shower. All bedding and towels are included. The heating & hot water can be provided by either the solid fuel log burner or emersion/convector heaters.
The Cottage has a small patio area at the front & patio area at the rear with a summer house which is accessed through neighbouring gardens. The summer house is available for cyclists to store their bikes! Ample road side parking is available.

The village of Earl Sterndale is home to the 'Famous' Quiet Woman Pub. It is also set in the heart of the Peak District close to The River Dove, Chrome Hill, Parkhouse & Roundhill which are fantastic walking areas. The nearest village shop & post office are located approx 2-3 miles away in the village of Longnor.

Other local villages include Hartington famous for its 'Stilton Cheese'. The village of Castleton famous for the Blue John Stone, Speedwell Cavern & Peveril Castle. Local Market towns are Bakewell, Buxton & Ashbourne.
Other local attractions include Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall which are approx 20 minutes drive away.
